JBS Guide to SRMBoK - Explosives Incidents

This Guide to SRMBOK is focused on the management of explosives incidents (bombs).

The objective of this ‘Guide to SRMBOK’ is to help readers understand and mitigate the risks associated with explosives and effectively apply security risk management strategies in an integrated and cohesive fashion.

It has been written in such a way as to stand alone so far as possible, however it is assumed that most readers will be familiar with the concepts and definitions described in the Security Risk Management Body of Knowledge (SRMBOK).

JBS Guide to SRMBoK - Intellectual Assets

Intellectual assets (IAs) can exist in a variety of forms, though they are all based upon the generation, capture and protection of valuable knowledge. Their foundation is fragile, as it is dependent upon the transition from tacit knowledge possessed by an individual, into the organisation with which they are associated. The organisation must then convert that knowledge into value creating processes, products or practices. While intellectual property (IP) is not the only form of IA, it is the most obvious and the most tangible.

This chapter is intended to provide a background to the concepts underpinning Intangible Assets, R&D activities, threats, perpetrators, vulnerabilities and protective mechanisms.

JBS Guide to SRMBoK - Physical Security

Establishing security specifications that deliver consistent and agreed levels of security protection based on the threat context is a challenge common to most organisations regardless of size or industry sector. This is particularly the case for organisations operating in different regions or countries, which face the added complexity of attempting to define specifications for security measures when terminology, materials and legislation are different.

JBS Guide to SRMBoK - Training

This chapter provides a short overview of the training options, strategies and tools that a security risk professional can apply towards implementing security risk management strategies and countermeasures within an organisation. The focus of this chapter is on training general staff rather than security practitioners, however the principles described here-in are equally applicable to both groups.

SRMBoK

The Security Risk Management Body of Knowledge has been produced by JBS in collaboration with the RMIA. There were some 80 contributors to the book with JBS providing the lead authors. SRMBoK provides guidance for security professionals across a number of issues facing the present day security manager
